MK4 VW Golf AJM remapped: by Torquetronix, Ballymena. Dec 2006 191bhp @ 287ftlbs.

Currently 208 bhp @ 338 Lbs Torque (august 07)

GTTDI 6 speed, Traction Control ASR, Air Conditioning, 18" BBS RC's, Full Votex body kit, 312mm Audi TT 225 Front Brake Upgrade, R32 Steering wheel, Beetle sport gear knob, R32 pedals, Koni Ajustable Dampers, 50mm lowered Suspension on Eibach Springs, front top strut brace, A3 lower front strut brace, Full PowerFlex Bushe Kit (including the dogbone bushe). After market Valeo aero wiper twin conversion.

Chrome front lower slats, Blue V5 type interior.

Integral OEM look boost Gauge (running 1.72bar), R32 Fingerplate & handle, R32 Door pins, Blue Leds. DeLocked both doors. Beetle Sport gear knob & gaiter.

Modified 80mm Air intake feed from lower grill, Smoothed Air box, K&N Flat Panel Air filter & 130 N75 Valve.

A new addition is a 2006 modified maf enclosure from another vag engine. The design is more reliable and apparently results in a smoother torque curve. The car definitely seems like its pulling longer.

July 2006: I renewed both front wheel bearings and top strut mountings. yes i know i should of fitted new wheel bearings when i got the hubs from the scrapyard but i know now. i changed the top strut mounts due to 'twanging' when turning the car a slow speeds.

20 October 2006:  PD150 inlet manifold and heater/EGR cooler element fitted. The 150 inlet manifold is as much as 40% bigger than the one standard on the 115 (same as 110). The heater element from the 150pd is a chamber that takes heat from the exhaust and warms the water quicker to give you near instant heat in the morning, that should be great in the winter for clearing the windows and it's bound to improve engine longevity.

Fitted on: 10th nov 2006: VNT17b Turbo (titanium compressor wheel & 360 thrust bearing), + larger pipe work (the large aluminium feed) from the air box lid to turbo and 130/150 injectors. Also decated the exhaust.

23 November 2006: pretty busy as i had the 130/150 Injectors fitted.  The changeover was quite straightforward (thanks to instructions from Stephen Cresswell). The Car started great but had boost cut offs due to the 115 remap.  I booked the car in for another remap at Torquetronix. Davy spent quite a while on the car and he decided to fit a 130 ECU and map it as the 115 doesnt have much headroom for tuning.  The car is now a different animal altogether pulling longer and harder than ever.  The turbo is currently boosting at 1.79bar and with no lag whatsoever.  The current settings are not finalised as i have not fitted the FMIC as i dont see much use for it in the winter. Its back to davy next year for yet another remap to take the FMIC into account.

12th December 2006 rolling road result: 191.5 BHP to din 70020, 287 lbs Torque at 2520rpm.   Max power @ 113mph or 3970 rpm Max Torque at 72mph or 2520rpm.

August 2007

Davy has recently written another map which delivers considerably more torque than the last map. I estimate a tad over 200 bhp @ 300+ ftlbs. I am unable to get a rolling road as i need an uprated sachs clutch. it is slipping in 5th and 6th gear :( It doesnt happen all the time but i don't have the funds at the moment to purchase an uprated clutch. Looking forward to the summer as maybe my custom intercooler will be ready. Still waiting time off work to fit a full miltek exhaust system supplied by Torquetronix, agents for Milltek Sport exhaust systems.

Future plans/wish list: Aqua mist into the custom FMIC. Sachs Organic clutch, oil cooler. Turbo Dynamics stage 2 Hybrid turbo. maybe a single mass flywheel (if i can stand the rattle).

Expected Output 260 Bhp @ 360+Lbs

August 2008

Just recieved the 5 paddle clutch kit from CG Motorsport.

Fitted the Full Milltek Turbo back (discreet) Courtesy of Torquetronix Ballymena.
